this song is even better when you know the lyrics. the entire song is split into 2 parts, first part describes the holocaust from a Jewish persion's point of view, the second part is the pov of a German soldier. simply breathtaking

(also genre chances from album to album. his first and third record vary in genre sticking mostly to id say a jazzy experimental pop sound. his third record, SELF-ISH is a mix of rock, metal, emo, and avant sounds that js very interesting toksten to. In cass i make it, whixh is what this song is from, is a indie-folk album and his biggest departure in sound from before. Will wood doesn't have a set genre and more so plays eirh different sounds and genre's depending on the writing or how he feels)

John produced this album and her next one. He played all the guitar and put the band together. He’s all over it. I am considering uploading an instrumental version of this and the next one as “John Lennon- The ‘Oh No’ sessions” I dove deep into the rabbit hole recently and found all this out. This chick put him onto heroin and directed his career for at least 5-7 years. I don’t know how. Also, Bjork has talent.

This one especially pisses me off. They pretty much only vamp on one chord, but the drums and bass do some really cool things. This is dying to be stripped of the vocal and repurposed for something good.

The songs with the band actually has some fire music. They would benefit greatly from AI vocal removal.

Oh my gosh! I'd sort of given up on hoping for more reactions to Will Wood's acoustic stuff, so I'm really glad I stumbled across this! I'm glad you've enjoyed the songs you've reacted to so far - his music really is brilliant, and very varied. If ever in your own time you listen to his discography in order, there's a very clear progression he makes as an artist that in some ways relates to his personal journey of self improvement (I think is the best way to word that?). From his time in 'Will Wood and the Tapeworms' to the kickstarting of his personal career, and up until his most recent album, which is a collection of live stripped back piano/ukulele versions of his own songs which this recording is a part of. There's some really deep lyrics packed in there, as well as a lot that are just for fun, and for most of his albums the instrumentation can be best described as 'busy' haha. I know he takes a lot of inspiration from jazz, but a lot of his music doesn't technically fall into that genre. He's got a bit of everything really, some pop, some punk, some rock, some indie, and yeah, some jazz as well. Basically, I'm sure if it ever takes your fancy, there's plenty more of his songs that you would likely enjoy, because he sort of covers all bases. Thanks for the reaction x

This album was everything i wanted out of Spires and more! Everything from the emotion, the power, the vocals, etc. I loved it! If i had to pick a top three it would probably be: 1: Architect of Creation 2: Songs upon Wine stained Tounges 3: Almosttown But let me tell you. Picking a top three was INCREDIBLY difficult. I have a feeling that with more and more listens, Love’s Souvenirs and Emerald Necklace might creep their way up there.
